Armenia welcomes Brazilian Senate’s Armenian Genocide resolution – Nalbandian
I reaffirm the Brazilian Federal Senate’s adoption of a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide. The final decision was published yesterday, it is posted on the Senate’s official website, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told reporters on Wednesday.
According to Nalbandian, Armenia welcomes the Brazilian Senate’s resolution. “It is an important move supporting the international community’s efforts towards prevention of genocides and new crimes against humanity,” he said.
The Federal Senate of Brazil on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide. Resolution No 550/2015 was introduced by Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Defense of the Senate, Federal Senator Aloizio Nunez Fereira Filio and Federal Senator Jose Sera.
