168 Hours: Samvel Alexanyan produces whiskey MacAlex
One of the companies belonging to Armenian MP Samvel Alexanyan is producing whiskey, 168 Hours reports.
Alcoholic drinks, expressively named MacAlex and labeled as “whiskey,” are sold in his Yerevan City supermarket chain. That is, Alexanyan not only exports whiskey to Iraq, as was reported earlier, but also decided to give Armenian consumers an opportunity to taste it. The price is quite affordable – a one-liter bottle costs 2,300 drams.
Official statistics also recorded the emergence of “Armenian whiskey.” According to the National Statistical Service, 187.2 thousand liters of whiskey was produced in January-April 2015.
