Several people arrested after clashes with police at New Jersey concert
Several people were arrested after clashes with police at a hip-hop concert in New Jersey, the United States, local media reported, according to Sputnik.
According to The Record, police dressed in riot gear used pepper spray against the concert-goers, as they threw bottles at the members of the law enforcement. Hundreds of police officers were present at the scene using clubs and riot shields, the media outlet reported Sunday.
“Multiple arrests” have taken place at the Hot 97 Summer Jam concert, State Police spokesman Gregory Williams said, as quoted by The Record. The police also used sound generators, producing a screeching noise, in a bid to disperse the crowds.
The incident kicked off Sunday evening, as people started fighting at the concert. The police shut off the gates to prevent people from entering the venue.
