Roman Amoyan to face Azerbaijan’s Elman Mukhtarov in fight for bronze medal
As we had reported earlier, Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestler Roman Amoyan was defeated by Russia’s Stepan Maryanyan 0-8 in round 2 of Greco-Roman wrestling competition at the European Games in Baku. Amoyan had beaten Portugal’s Joao Carvalho in round 1.
Maryanyan then beat Azerbaijan’s Elman Mukhtarov. Amoyan defeated Denmark’s Fonnesbek, and will face Mukhtarov in the fight for the bronze medal Saturday evening.
Amoyan has broken his ring finger, sports commentator Karen Giloyan wrote on Facebook.
