One killed, 24 families left homeless after massive fire in Armenia’s Meghri
A 3-story residential building was completely destroyed by fire in Meghri town of Armenia’s Syunik province on Saturday morning.
A 75-year-old woman was killed in the fire.
Meghri Mayor Arshavir Hovhannisyan told Panorama.am that the fire spread to the nearby private houses. One of them was destroyed completely and the other partially.
A total of 24 families – 60 people – have been left homeless. They were evacuated to the local hotel.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by a gas leak as a result of a resident’s carelessness.
