Armenian Ambassador to Iran calls on Iranian businessmen to make investments in Armenia
Armenia assesses positively Iran’s position regarding the Karabakh conflict, the Armenian Ambassador to Iran, Artashes Tumanyan, told the Iranian news agency FARS.
Speaking about the perspectives of Armenian-Iranian relations, the Ambassador said, “Fortunately, Iran and Armenia have no deep disagreements, and they maintain high-level bilateral relations. Iran is a country of great importance for Armenia. During my office I will make efforts to activate the bilateral economic relations.”
Highlighting the necessity of activating the economic ties, Artashes Tumanyan added, “Armenia supports the foreign investors. If the Iranian businessmen make investments in the production sector in Armenia, they will have the opportunity to export their products to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union of population of about 200 million without paying customs duties. Hence, I advise the Iranian businessmen to make investments in Armenia.”
Speaking about the possibility of Iran coming up as mediator in Karabakh conflict, Tumanyan said, “We assess positively Iran’s position regarding the Karabakh conflict. Iran’s balanced policy with the countries in the region is vital for Armenia. The role of the balanced policy is observed in Karabakh conflict as well.”
