Warlick: Armenia’s participation in Baku Games is an opportunity to build bridges of cooperation and mutual understanding
The American Co-Chairman of OSCE Minsk Group Amb. James Warlick, who attended the Opening Ceremonies of Baku Games, in a brief interview to Panorama.am shared his impressions about Armenian delegation being booed by the crowd in the stadium:
“Although there were some in the audience who did not welcome the athletes graciously, Armenian participation in the Games is an opportunity for the sides to build bridges of cooperation and understanding through sports. I hope the rest of the Games proceed with displays of good sportsmanship, mutual respect, and friendship in the true spirit of the Olympics. We encourage such exchanges to build for a future when Armenians and Azerbaijanis can live together again side by side.”
