Haykakan Zhamanak: Difficulties during preparation of documents for ANPP
Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily writes citing sources in Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources that some difficulties arose during the preparation of documents for major repairs of Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP).
“The resource of ANPP’s operation ends in 2016. To extend that period for 10 years, Armenia needs to get a $270 million loan and a $30 million grant from Russia. A lot of agreements should be signed for funding, drafting of feasibility documents, design, and equipment manufacturing. One of those documents was to be signed in Moscow in early June. Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan left for Moscow, but the signing was postponed at the last moment. The sources did not give information about the document, but they say it is a technical problem and will be solved soon”.
