Armenian Police: Official investigations to look into complaints by journalists
Official investigations in the Police of Armenia are launched at the orders of the Head of the Police Vladimir Gasparyan to look into all complaints lodged by journalists regarding the actions of law enforcement representatives during the events on Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan in the early morning of June 23.
The deputy head of Police Valeriy Osipyan told journalists about the ongoing investigation at the Liberty square in Yerevan, with no further details.
According to the information obtained, the Police department intends to investigate with all the rigor the lawfulness and proportionality of actions of law enforcement representatives against the media reporters, and take up appropriate measures to bring those guilty to justice, as well as to compensate possible costs incurred by the alleged violations.
