Hraparak: Compromise can be reached, head of union of small hydropower plants says
Naira Nahapetyan, Chairwoman of the Union of Small Hydropower Plants of Armenia, told ‘Hraparak’ paper when discussing the sit-in in Yerevan’s Bagramian Avenue: “I think that somehow a compromise can be found. 70% of electricity in Armenia is produced by Armenian Nuclear Power Plant and thermal power plants, and 30%, i.e. cheap electricity, is produced by small hydropower plants. 3rd unit f the nuclear plant should be constructed rapidly because if the first unit is shut down, I can’t imagine what we are going to do in 7-8 months”.
