NYC flight bound for Kuwait City makes emergency landing for food poisoning: report
A flight from New York City bound for Kuwait City made an emergency landing in London Saturday morning — but apparently over just a few sick passengers, local reports say.
Kuwait Airlines flight 118, which took off from JFK at 9 p.m. Friday, diverted to Heathrow airport around 9 a.m. The state of emergency came from six passengers getting food poisoning, The Independent reported.
A police source told the London paper the landing "was a routine diversion for a medical emergency."
It's unclear how many passengers were on board or if any are facing serious medical issues.
By unfortunate coincidence, the state of emergency came the day after an ISIS suicide bombing in Kuwait City killed 16 people in a mosque during morning prayers. That was part of a trifecta of international terrorist attacks on Friday, claiming dozens of lives altogether, that ISIS dubbed "Bloody Friday." The militant group posted an online plea for its deranged followers to continue such violent attacks through the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
