Police intend to remove barricades of trash containers from Bagramian Avenue in Yerevan
The Armenian police announced their intention to seize the trash containers that were used by protesters against a power tariff rise to erect barricades on Bagramian Avenue in Yerevan.
Arsen Aivazyan, Head of Yerevan Investigative Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee, went to Bagramian Avenue today. He said that a criminal case was opened under Article 185 (intentional destruction or damage of property) of the Criminal Code following a complaint by filed by Sanitek, a waste disposal company, on June 28.
“A decision was made to seize the containers. I urge citizens not to obstruct investigative actions,” Aivazyan said. But demonstrators prevented the removal of trash containers by getting onto containers.
