Armenian law enforcers to investigate Avetisyan family murder in Gyumri: Russian prosecutor’s office transfers the case
A decision was taken following long negotiations between the prosecutor’s offices of Armenia and Russia that the proceedings of the criminal case into the mass murder of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri in January 2015 will be handed over by Russian law enforces to the Armenian side, the press service of Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office announced today.
Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan met during negotiations with Russian counterpart Yuri Chayka and Chairman of Russia’s Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin.
The case will be transferred to Armenia’s Investigative Committee after procedural issues are completed, Armenian Prosecutor’s Office said without specifying the date.
One thing is certain: the sentence will be passed on behalf of the Republic of Armenia, says the statement of the Office of Armenian Prosecutor General.
