Armenian Defense Ministry: Lieutenant M. Melikyan dies of gunshot wound
According to preliminary information, today, around 1:00 pm local time Lieutenant M. Melikyan was found with a gunshot wound in his head in the control zone of a military unit located in the northeastern direction, Armenian Defense Ministry said.
The serviceman died on the way to a military hospital. An investigation is underway.
“Defense Ministry shares the pain of this bereavement and offers its condolences to the family, friends, and fellow servicemen of M. Melikyan,” Defense Ministry said in a statement.
