Deputy chief of police: Protesters are our sisters and brothers
Earlier today on July 6 the Armenian police removed the barricades made of trash containers that protesters demonstrating against the suggested electricity tariff hike had placed on Bagramyan Avenue in downtown Yerevan.
The police unblocked Bagramyan Avenue, and traffic on the downtown avenue resumed flowing.
The Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan was found in a video footage during the police operation giving orders to the policemen: “Stay calm, stay calm, officers. Carry them (the protesters) in your hands, they are our sisters and brothers”.
