Armenian police remove barricades on Bagramyan Avenue in Yerevan
Armenian police are removing the barricades of trash containers that were placed across Bagramyan Avenue in Yerevan by protesters against a rise in electricity tariffs.
Employees of Sanitek Company, the owner of trash containers, have arrived to collect them.
Deputy Chief of Armenian Police Hunan Poghosyan and Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan earlier talked with demonstrators and proposed that rally participants should remove trash containers from the roadway and continue their protest either on the sidewalk or in Liberty Square. Protesters asked for time to consider their further actions. As was reported, the Armenian police earlier today issued a statement calling on demonstrators against the power tariff hike to unblock Bagramyan Avenue in Yerevan by 12:30 local time.
