Traffic resumes on Bagramyan Avenue in Yerevan
Armenian police have unblocked Bagramyan Avenue in Yerevan, the traffic has resumed. In response to law enforcers’ appeal to leave Bagramyan Avenue, several protesters sat down in the middle of the avenue. Police detained some of them.
Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan said all those detained will be released soon and they will not be persecuted.
Armenian policemen earlier today removed the barricades of trash containers that protesters against a power tariff rise had placed on Bagramyan Avenue.
This morning the police issued a statement urging demonstrators against the tariff rise to unblock voluntarily Bagramyan Avenue by 12:30 local time.
