Azerbaijan adds Kazarnovskaya in “black list” for NKR visit
The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, said that the Russian opera singer Lyubov Kazarnovskaya’s name will be included in a list of undesirable people because of her recent visit to Nagorno Karabakh. However, the opera singer is not worried for being declared persona non grata in Azerbaijan. She told the Russian News Service that she is glad to be in the same black list as Montserrat Caballé.
“I am in the same list as Montserrat Caballé, something I am very proud of. Because Nagorno Karabakh is an amazing place where I brought young interns. I am not worried. While there is aggression in the word, there will be no peace on the planet. There, in Karabakh, people are inclined towards a world without war, towards birth of children,” Kazarnovskaya said.
Ljubov Kazarnovskaya, the opera singer, held a master class in the Stepanakert musical college in the frameworks of the "Tnjre" International Music Festival. More than 20 singers from Nagorno Karabakh took part in in. During a press conference in Stepanakert, Kazarnovskaya said that she intends to take part in a number of musical projects in Nagorno Karabakh. She will participate in setting Verdi’s “Requiem” and establishing an opera art school with the Ministry of Culture of Nagorno Karabakh.
Back in 2013, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan published a list of people who had become persona non grata in Azerbaijan for visiting Nagorno Karabakh Republic, and thus are barred from entry to the country. According to media reports, the number of the names included in the list is above 300, which, however, does not stop the world celebrities.
