Agriculture minister proposes organizing Armenian agricultural exhibition in Japan
The activities of Japan’s newly opened embassy in Armenia will help expand cooperation of the two countries, including agricultural cooperation, Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan said at a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Eiji Taguchi, according to the press service of Agriculture Ministry.
“Japan has been assisting our republic, including through assistance aimed at development of agriculture, since Armenia gained independence. I am sure that with your appointment, the bilateral relations will strengthen and develop further,” S. Karapetyan said.
Ambassador Taguchi thanked the minister for the warm reception and expressed confidence that both Armenia and Japan have much potential for cooperation in the agricultural sector and that steps should be taken to use the potential.
Noting that there could be a demand for Armenian farm products in Japanese market, Sergo Karapetyan proposed organizing an Armenian agricultural exhibition in Japan. The Japanese ambassador expressed his willingness to look into the possibility of holding an exhibition.
