Weather service official refutes information about afternoon high of 40 degrees today
Thermometers on mobile phones and other devices of many residents of Yerevan showed today that the high reached 40 degrees in the afternoon. Yer Gagik Surenyan, Head of the weather service of Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, told Panorama.am that no such temperature was recorded in any place across the capital city and even Armenia.
According to him, temperatures rose to 39 degrees in Yerevan’s Kentron and Shengavit administrative districts. In the other districts, today’s high was 36-37 degrees.
The official said that temperatures are expected drop by 3-4 degrees tomorrow.
