Government of Armenia transfers working day from July 13th to 18th: Monday after Vardavar Feast is non-work day
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan conducted an extraordinary session of Armenia government today, on July 11. The government took a decision to transfer the working day from Monday, July 13, to Saturday, July 18 2015.
On Sunday, July 12, the Armenian Apostolic Church marks Vardavar – the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, one of the five Cardinal Feasts. The Monday after Vardavar is a Memorial Day.
A number of arguments were voiced at the government session in connection with transferring working days, in particular arguments related to the organization of work with foreign partners and the problems arising for the business community. Several proposals were made.
The PM said he shares concern of business entities. He instructed Minister-Chief of Government Staff David Harutyunyan to examine the issue with parliamentary factions, the Armenian Apostolic Church, and the business community to develop a common approach in the future.
The Service for Compulsory Enforcement of Judicial Acts, the State Committee of Real Estate Cadaster, and the Visa and Passport Department of Armenian police were instructed to continue working on the same schedule. The Armenian banks will also serve customers on July 13.
