Deputy chief of General Staff of Armenian AF Movses Hakobyan: Situation is quite calm on border, no serious incidents reported
The situation is now quite calm on the border with Azerbaijan, no active operations were reported, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces Movses Hakobyan told reporters today at the central assembly station.
“When compared with the situation in early 2015 and the same period of last year, it is quite calm now, there have been no serious incidents on the frontline,” he said.
Commenting at reporters’ request on the recent statement of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov that “a concession in the Karabakh issue can only be made as part of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, Movses Hakobyan said that he has heard such things for 23 years.
“Elmar Mamedyarov’s wish is unacceptable to us, and the talks are not at a stalemate,” M. Hakobyan stressed.
