Golden Apricot 12th International Film Festival continues in Yerevan. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met last evening with the guests of honor and the festival participants from Armenia and various countries, according to the presidential press service.
S. Sargsyan welcomed the meeting participants. He said that Golden Apricot Film Festival has become a tradition and presents the best samples of world cinema to the Armenian viewer. According to the president, no less important is the fact that thanks to the festival, celebrated representatives of world cinema who arrive in Armenia every year get an opportunity to become acquainted with Armenia, its centuries-old history, and the rich cultural heritage of the Armenian people.
Serzh Sargsyan wished success to the Golden Apricot 12th International Film Festival.
Golden Apricot 12th Film Festival started in Yerevan on July 12. Hamo Beknazaryan’s ‘Namus’ film – its 90th anniversary is marked this year – was selected as the film to close the festival. Established in 2004 with the support of Armenian Ministry of Culture, Golden Apricot has become one of the prestigious film festivals in the region. Among the renowned actors and cinema representatives who have visited Yerevan as part of the festival were Tonino Guerra, Claudia Cardinale, and Fanny Ardant.
