Nastassja Kinski: For me, it was important to visit Armenia in 2015 (photos)
“I have a lot to remember and tell about Armenia,” says NastassjaKinsi, a guest of honor at the Golden Apricot 12th International Film Festival in Yerevan. Kinski, a German actress and former model, has appeared in more than sixty films in Europe and the United States. She enjoyed her worldwide breakthrough with Stay As You Are(1978), then came to global prominence with her Golden Globe Award-winning performance as the title character in the Roman Polanski-directed film Tess (1979). Other notable films in which she acted include Cat People (1982), two WimWenders dramas Paris, Texas (1984) and Faraway, So Close! (1993), and An American Rhapsody (2001).

‘I have a lot to tell about my first visit. There are so many things to see and learn here. Everything is so beautiful that it seems to me I already know something about local people.
‘I know about the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and it was important for me to visit Armenia in 2015,” the actress said, pointing out her meetings with the Armenian president and the minister of culture.

Nastassja Kisnki said she made her film debut at age 12 and has since then met various people and worked with different film directors who became a part of her life. “Of course, I found my director and I am not looking for someone else,” she noted without revealing that film director’s name.
She described the art as something cosmic, adding that she is happy to work in the art.
According to Nastassja Kinski, there have been ups and downs in her acting career – great successes and also some failures on her life path. She said that after achieving success, one should also learn to lose.
Kinski said she plans to shoot a documentary about athletes hailed as heroes across the world. She added that if the world chess champion TigranPetriosyan had been alive, she would have involved him in the film.
“You are a very good documentary film maker,” the director of Golden Apricot Festival HarutyunKhachatryan told the renowned actress. Nastassja Kinski accepted H. Khachatryan’s offer to shoot a documentary together.

In Armenia the actress was welcomed with a basket of apricots. In her words, it was so nice that the apricot was selected as Golden Apricot Film Festival’s symbol.
Kinski’s “escape” from the hotel and her walk around the city
I had a walk in Yerevan last night. The city is very hospitable and open, and you can see freedom and joy on people’s faces. I like to walk alone in unfamiliar cities, the actress said adding that she ‘escaped’ from the hotel to enjoy a walk in Yerevan.
At the conclusion of the meeting with reporters, Nastassja Kinski wished peace and love to everyone.
