George H.W. Bush hospitalized after fall
Former President George H.W. Bush broke a bone in his neck in a fall at home in Kennebunkport, Maine, according to spokesperson Jim McGrath.
McGrath said that the former president has been hospitalized in Portland, Maine, and that he was in stable condition, Politico.com reported.
Bush’s injury was not “life-threatening,” according to McGrath, but “he’ll be in a neck brace. “
The 91-year-old former president — father of President George W. Bush and GOP presidential contender Jeb Bush — has had a series of medical issues in recent years, including a cough that turned into a life-threatening illness over the 2012-13 Christmas season.
“We are not expecting a long stay,” McGrath said.
