168 Hours: 14 members of Armenian parliament are millionaires
‘168 Hours’ paper says that the income and property declarations filed by MPs in 2014 show that there are 14 millionaires among Armenian parliament members, with their net worth totaling $223 million.
Gagik Tsarukyan continues to be the wealthiest MP. According to the declaration submitted in late 2014, he had 33.9bn drams, $30.37 million and 26.3 million euros.
Samvel Aleksanyan is in second position: he together with his wife had a net worth of $36 million. The owner of Yerevan Beer brewery Hakob Hakobyan who declared last year a net worth of $9.6 million is in third place.
127 out of the 131 deputies of the Armenian parliament filed annual income declarations in 2014. Their combined wealth is 62bn drams, $66.3 million, and 33.8 million euros.
