Haykakan Zhamanak: New Constitution offers opportunity of ‘painless change of power’
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said at the sitting of the Council of the Republican Party of Armenia that following the constitutional reforms he has no intention of running for parliament speaker. He earlier also declared that he did not aspire to the post of president or prime minister.
“When someone speaks about reproduction of power, he needs to put forward arguments and I am ready to have a dispute on them,” Chief of the Armenian Government Staff David Harutyunyan said in response to a question of ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily. He said Serzh Sargsyan’s statements carry political weight, while the new Constitution offers an opportunity of a ‘painless change of power’.
