South Korean delegation head presents NA speaker Sahakyan with Contemporary Genocides book, with chapter on Armenian Genocide
Speaker of Armenian National Assembly Galust Sahakyan received today a South Korean parliamentary delegation, led by Noh Young-min, Head of the South Korea-Armenia Friendship Group of South Korean parliament.
G. Sahakyan attached importance to the development of Armenian-South Korean relations, stressing the deepening of parliamentary ties between the two countries. He highly appreciated South Korea’s balanced approach toward issues of importance to Armenia.
He spoke about the Armenian NA initiative “Parliamentarians against Genocide” that urges parliaments of other countries to condemn genocides around the world.
Noh Young-min, for his part, noted that before visiting the Armenian parliament, their delegation went to the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, familiarized themselves with the items on display in the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, sharing the great pain of the tragedy of the Armenian people. The head of the Korea-Armenia Friendship Group of the South Korean parliament added that in this sense his country and Armenia have a common fate.
Noh Young-min gave the Armenian parliament speaker a gift - his book ‘Contemporary Tragedies’ whose first chapter is devoted to the Armenian Genocide.
At the end of the meeting Galust Sahakyan presented Noh Young-min with the Medal of Honor of the National Assembly of Armenia in recognition of his efforts to strengthen Armenian-South Korean friendship ties.
