Armenian youths condemn one-sided statements of James Warlick, make demands to OSCE Minsk Group
The youth and student union ‘Sargis Tkhruni’ of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) gathered today outside the OSCE Office in Yerevan in protest over the recent interview of the U.S. Co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick with the Russian paper ‘Vedomosti’.
Member of Sargis Tkhruni union’s council Roman Tsatinyan told Panorama.am yesterday the U.S. diplomat made once again a poorly thought-out, subjective, and one-sided statement regarding the Karabakh conflict. In response to the U.S. Co-Chair, R. Tsatinyan stressed that it is Azerbaijan that occupied the Armenian regions of Artsakh.
In his words, they demand that the OSCE Minsk Group react appropriately to daily violations of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan resulting in military and civilian casualties.
R. Tsatinyan reminded that James Warlick did not make any condemning statement when Azerbaijani saboteurs killed in Karabakh an officer and a 17-year-old boy, Smbat Tsakanyan, and also severely wounded a defenseless woman. Nor did J. Warlick denounce the murder of Armenian civilian Karen Petrosyan who was killed in Azerbaijan after accidentally crossing into that country.
“Warlick and the OSCE Minsk Group in general did not give any appropriate assessment of the incident when a Karabakh military helicopter was shot down (editor: during a training flight) by Azerbaijani troops. It was a flagrant violation of the ceasefire,” Tsatinyan told Panorama.am.
‘Sargis Tkhruni’ youth and student union handed a statement containing these theses to Armenian media outlets as well.
