Armenian health minister declares war on pseudo experts who spread panic about enriched flour
In Armenia cardiovascular diseases account for half of all deaths, due to which programs on emergency heart surgeries are implemented in the country, Armenian Health Minister Armen Muradyan said during a visit to Gegharkunik province.
He said the projects are carried out in line with provisions that were included in the program of the election campaign of President Serzh Sargsyan.
Speaking about the enrichment of wheat flour, an issue that drew a wide response of the public, the health minister said that in 1940 - 1991 the Soviet Union used flour enrichment methods and that measures are currently underway in Armenia to reintroduce these methods to prevent serious diseases and ensure quality health care.
Muradyan said that people who have no knowledge of diseases, their complications, and human suffering should not be allowed to create baseless tension with their pseudoscientific materials.
During his regional trip the health minister visited medical centers in the cities of Gavar and Martuni.
