Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Galust Sahakyan received today the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea who visited the parliament in connection with ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the press service of parliament said.

G. Sahakyan highly appreciated the work done by Mr Hristea in Armenia, pointing out the dynamic development of Armenia-EU relations during his tenure.

The speaker of NA said the EU Delegation carried out active and fruitful activities in various spheres in Armenia. When speaking about cooperation between the National Assembly and the Delegation of the EU, Galust Sahakyan stressed the role of parliaments in expanding the interstate relations.

Traian Hristea commended Armenia- EU cooperation. He thanked the NA speaker for the proper organization of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly’s plenary session in Armenia in March 2015. He also expressed his gratitude to parliamentary committees that have cooperated closely with them.

The interlocutors discussed the constitutional reforms in Armenia, EU-Armenia visa facilitation, and further bilateral cooperation.
