Armenian athletes compete in European Shooting Championship in Slovenia
Four Armenian athletes – Hrach Babayan, Christian and Irina Lauers, and Zaven Igityan are participating in the European Shooting Championship that started on July 18 in Maribor, Slovenia. The Armenian delegation is led by Seyran Nikoghosyan, head coach of the Shooting Federation of Armenia.
Approximately 1000 athletes from 46 countries are competing in the European Championship 2015, which will give the athletes the opportunity to win 21 Olympic Quotas for the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016. Hrach Babayan, 19, and Zaven Igityan, 16, are participating in junior events, the Shooting Federation of Armenia said.
Hrach Babayan is scheduled to compete in a 50 meter Rifle event tomorrow, on July 23. Irina Lauer will take part in a 50 meter Rifle event on the same day.
