Defense Army of Nagorno Karabakh stops offensive actions of Azerbaijani troops
On July 21, Azerbaijani troops continued to intensively violate the ceasefire along the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, said the press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR).
According to latest data of Defense Army of NKR, over the indicated period the Azerbaijani frontline units violated the ceasefire about 160 times, with over 1,600 shots fired from small arms and artillery weapons at Armenian positions, including from 66 mm mortars and RPG-7 grenade launchers. Over 140 shots were fired from large-caliber machine guns.
The frontline units of NKR Defense Army took actions in response, as a result of which the offensive actions of the Azerbaijani side were stopped.
Defense Ministry of NKR said the Defense Army is in control of the situation and is capable of taking disproportionate and punitive actions in case of any developments.
