Deputy minister: There are companies interested in Iran-Armenia railway construction project
Negotiations on construction of Iran-Armenia railway are being held, and work is done to get financing for the project’s implementation, Armenian Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Arthur Arakelyan said during a briefing after the government session today.
In his words, there are companies that are interested in the project and prepared to finance a part of the program. Yet the program is expensive and a comprehensive decision is needed for its implementation, he noted.
Arthur Arakelyan did not share the opinion that statements about the “possible inefficiency” of the railway may have a negative effect on the project’s financing.
