51% of Armenian population uninformed of constitutional reforms in country, Gallup International Association poll shows
51% of Armenia’s population doesn’t know that constitutional reforms have been initiated in the country, 45% of the citizens are informed about it, and 5% found it difficult to answer that question, Director of Gallup International Association Office in Armenia Aram Navasardyan said at a press conference today when presenting the results of a poll.
The poll shows that 32% of respondents could not say what they think of a switch to the parliamentary model of government, 28% said their attitude is somewhat negative, 21% said their attitude is somewhat positive.,16% said they have a very negative attitude, and only 3% expressed a very positive attitude to constitutional reforms.
Only 3% of respondents said they definitely want to participate in public debates of the new draft Constitution, 33% said they do not want to participate. When responding to that question, 28% said “more likely no than yes”, and 23% said “more likely yes than no”.
1105 respondents were surveyed during the poll in May 2015.
