119 LaGuardia flights canceled after crew work causes power outages
Construction work at LaGuardia Airport caused power outages, leading to more than 100 flight cancellations and lengthy delays.
A source told PIX11 that crews working on the east end of LaGuardia cut through electrical feeders, causing a power outage at Terminal C.
The power issues were first reported at 4:30 a.m. Friday, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
A spokesperson for the Port Authority said they’re in the process of having temporary generator power in use.
“Within the hour, the jet bridge, the movable connector which extends from an airport terminal gate to an airplane, will be operating,” said a Port Authority spokesman.
