President Sargsyan confesses he is happy to see achievements of new generation of Armenia
During his working visit to Tavush province, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with community representatives of the Luys Foundation. The meeting took place at the educational and research center of Central Bank of Armenia in Dilijan, the presidential press service said.
Prior to that, the teams participating in the program “We will achieve Armenia’s development together” of Luys Foundation informed the president about projects implemented in various communities. A special working group of the Foundation spoke about the results of work they have done, while the winners of a contest for business grants ‘Start Armenia’ presented their programs. The head of state handed certificates and prizes to them.
By tradition, Armenian President, Co-Founder of Luys Foundation Serzh Sargsyan also handed scholarship certificates to 53 students who were admitted to programs.
The president congratulated those admitted to the programs as well as the graduates and stressed the importance of education in the fast changing world. He assured the young people that the state will always support them to help them improve their skills and get knowledge.
In his words, a wonderful generation is growing up in Armenia, and some members of the new generation made him happy over the past week: 14 of the 15 participants in international maths, physics and biology Olympiads returned to Armenia with medals. S. Sargsyan said Armenia has a serious advantage over other regional countries.
He thanked students and graduates for returning to the homeland after studying at best universities of the world so as to use their knowledge for the good of Armenia.
The president then traveled to the city of Berd and visited several border settlements.
