Azerbaijan: Party leader urges to pour acid on legs of men in shorts
In Baku, men in shorts should be booed at, they should be stopped and mocked at with the words, “Immoral, disgraceful! Whom are you showing your body?” the chairman of the Azerbaijani opposition party Modern Musavat, Hafiz Hajiyev, said commenting on the news about the ban on shorts in the municipality Novkhani, according to Oxu.az.
Hafiz Hajiyev said he had negative attitude towards the men wearing shorts. “The Azerbaijani people have already forgotten about some of their customs and traditions. We try to infuse all the negative we see in Europe into our country. Some of our artists deprave the nation, and the Azerbaijani TVs are number one distributors of immorality. They show everyone who wears revealing clothes. Seeing that, some guys started to showcase their body. They are mostly spoilt rotten people. They want to show themselves as aristocrats. They are senseless and stupid people. The Azerbaijani politicians should not be ashamed to raise the issue. Decent people will not wear shorts,” he said.
According to the party leader, the struggle against the men in shorts should be conducted with the help of public censure. “For example, the men in shorts should be booed at, stopped and mocked at, acid should be poured on their legs so that they repent and never put on shorts again,” Hafiz Hajiyev advised.
This is not the first time the Modern Musavat party chairman makes statements of this sort. In 2014, Hafiz Hajiyev said he would “cut off Zhirinovsky’s ear for insulting Azerbaijan.” Earlier, he had offered 10 thousand euros to the person who would cut off Akram Aylisli’s ear, the author of the book “Stone Dreams” about the massacres of the Armenians in Nakhijevan.
