Armenian musicians to work with Symphony Orchestra of Damascus Opera
Armenian Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan met on July 26 with Syrian Culture Minister Issam Khalil. The sides discussed a range of issues related to promotion of bilateral cultural cooperation, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
The Syrian minister said that given Armenia’s cultural potential, he attaches importance to work to be done by Armenian musicians with the Symphony Orchestra of Damascus Opera and the courses they will conduct at the conservatory.
The interlocutors attached importance to holding culture days, and in this connection the Syrian minister proposed organizing Days of Syrian Culture in Armenia. The issue of Syria’s participation in Literary Ark international festival due in Armenia in September was discussed. Ambassador Poladyan handed Mr Khalil an invitation of Armenian Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan.
At the end of the meeting Issam Khalil presented details of his visit to Armenia on July 10-14.
