Armenian traditional song and dance course in Lisbon
An Armenian traditional song and dance course was organized by Hayrik Muradyan NGO in Lisbon in June and July 2015. The course was run in an open-air amphitheater in the garden of Gulbenkian Foundation. Thanks to modern music equipment, Armenian music was played for hours on end in the picturesque garden of Lisbon, Armenian Youth Foundation (AYF) said.
The participants involved students and pupils long with their parents enchanted by Armenian tunes.
Dance lessons were conducted by local expert Nare Sukiasyan and a connoisseur of Armenian dance Lia Khachatryan. Chairwoman of Hayrik Muradyan NGO, musician Narine Dellalyan taught Armenian songs. As a rule the Armenian group was joined by foreigners, mostly people from China, France, the US, Africa and Portugal.
Video and audio recordings ‘Rebirth of Cultural Heritage’ and brochures were distributed to all participants. The recordings and brochures were released with a grant provided by the Armenian Presidential Staff and as part of the AYF-sponsored contest.
