Zhoghovurd: Officials start receiving traffic tickets for past few years
High-ranking officials of Armenia did not receive any traffic tickets since 2011, although such violations were recorded, ‘Zhoghovurd’ paper says. The situation changed after Control Service of the Armenian President conducted checks of the traffic police and President Serzh Sargsyan was informed of the situation.
“The chief of Armenian traffic police Artak Harutyunyan was apparently relieved of his post for that reason, and since July 1 officials (including ministers and deputy ministers) have received whole packages of traffic tickets accumulated in the past few years. Many will have to pay millions of drams to the state budget,” the newspaper notes.
