Agricultural service center opens in Pokr Vedi community of Ararat province
The opening ceremony of an agricultural service center took place in Pokr Vedi community of Armenia’s Ararat province.
The center was established with the assistance of Armenian Agriculture Ministry, Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) under the USAID program ‘Partnerships for Rural Prosperity’ (PRP).
‘It is the second agricultural service center specializing in horticulture that has opened this year in our republic. It is equipped with modern equipment and will providesquality advisory services to farms. We plan to include all provinces as well,” Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan said in his speech.
The center will have state-of-art laboratory equipment for testing soil, water and plants. It will help establish market links and obtain funds for Armenian farms and rural SMEs, according to the press service of the ministry.
Besides, the center will organize workshops and courses with participation of local and foreign experts for 2.500 farmers in nearly 25 communities of Ararat province.
