Haykakan Zhamanak: Sanitary hygienic conditions in summer camps not under control
A second case of intestinal infection was reported in recent days in the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union-organized summer camp near Tsovinar village in Armenia’s Gegharkunik province.
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily attempted to find out what sanitary hygienic conditions shall exist in camps and who gives a respective permission. Health Ministry said that until 2006 it was their function to check if conditions are in line with the norms adopted in the Soviet time. Since 2006 there have been no norms or responsibilities. The State Food Safety Service does not deal with these issues either.
