Azerbaijani side fires over 17,000 shots at Armenian positions over past week
On July 26 – August 1, the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire over 1,100 times on the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, according to latest data of Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. In the indicated period over 17,000 shots were fired at Armenian positions from small arms of various calibers, 60 mm and 82 mm mortars and RPG-7, AGS-17 and SPG-9 grenade launchers, NKR Defense Ministry said.
The offensive actions of the Azerbaijani side were halted by prompt steps taken by frontline units of Defense Army.
