National Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert in Beirut to be dedicated to Armenian Genocide centenary
Armenia’s National Philharmonic Orchestra led by conductor Edward Topchyan will give a concert in Beirut on August 8 during the Beiteddine Art Festival this year.
The orchestra will dedicate its concert to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, according to the press office of Philharmonic Orchestra.
The concert participants will also include the State Chamber Choir of Armenia (principal conductor and artistic director is Robert Mlkeyan) and ‘Hover’ State Chamber Choir (principal conductor and artistic director Sona Hovhannisyan), as well as soprano Irina Zakyan, tenor Perch Karazyan, mezzo-soprano Narine Ananikyan, and baritone Sargis Bazhbeuk-Melikyan. The world-renowned violinist Sergey Khachatryan’s participation will turn the Beirut concert into a memorable event.
The concert will feature the suite from Khachatryan’s Spartacus ballet, Brahms’s violin concerto, and Mozart’s Requiem.
