Russian soldier Permakov trial date to be fixed soon
A Russian military court in Armenia accepted Russian military base soldier Valery Permyakov’s case for examination, Alyona Katkalo, a spokeswoman for the North Caucasus regional military court, told ITAR-TASS news agency.
“The case of private Valery Permyakov was accepted by the 5th military court located in Yerevan,” she said adding that a court hearing will be held soon to decide the issue of extending the accused man’s arrest. The date of the first sitting of the court will be fixed in the coming days, the spokeswoman said.
According to preliminary information, in January 2015 V. Permyakov left the Russian 102nd military base in Armenia. He entered a house in the city of Gyumri, shot dead 6 members of the Avetisyan family and injured a seventh member of the family, a 6-month-old boy who later died of stab wounds. Permaykov was detained on the same day while trying to cross the Armenian-Turkish border. He pleaded guilty to the killings.
