Zhoghovurd: Agvan Hovsepyan sends Syunik regional governor to president
‘Zhoghovurd’ paper writes citing sources that on July 25 when the Investigative Committee of Armenia (IC) was considering arresting Tigran Khachatryan, his father – the governor of Syunik province Suren Khachatryan was “on duty” in the corridor in front of IC Chairman Agvan Hovsepyan’s office in the hope that Hovsepyan would receive him.
The paper says that when the final decision on Tigran Khachatryan’s arrest was taken, A. Hovsepyan told the Syunik regional governor only one thing: that he should apply to the president regarding all other issues. In other words, the chairman of IC sent Suren Khachatryan to Serzh Sargsyan.
“According to our information, the governor of Syunuk attempted to meet with Serzh Sargsyan at the opening ceremony of the 6th Pan-Armenian Summer Games. It will become known soon whether a meeting took place and what results it produced,” the paper says, noting that the Khachatryans appealed against the arrest decision and that yesterday the lawyer said Tigran Khachatryan was in poor health.
