Two confirmed cases of anthrax reported in Armenian village of Artamed
Laboratory tests showed that two residents of Artamed village (Armenia’s Armavir province) who were taken to Yerevan’s Nork hospital yesterday, on August 4, were infected with anthrax, Armenian Health Ministry said.
“The patients are in satisfactory condition. Preventive and anti-epidemiological measures are underway,” the ministry said in a statement.
The indicated two persons on July 24 bought meat in Ninotsminda region of Georgia. A week later they saw ulcers on their hands and sought medical help.
Doctors monitor those who had contact with the meat brought from Georgia. Preventive and anti-epidemiological measures were taken at their homes.
The State Food Safety Service of Armenia was notified of the situation.
