Only Ecuadorian bananas imported into Armenia in July
Only Ecuadorian bananas were imported into Armenia in July, Armenia’s State Food Safety Service (SFSS) said in a statement about the results of nitrate monitoring in fresh fruit and vegetables.
Nitrate levels were within permissible limits in several thousand kilograms of bananas from Ecuador (the maximum permissible level for bananas is 60 mg/kg), SFSS said.
Besides, this July onions were imported into Armenia from Iran and Georgia, peppers from Iran, as well as lemons from Egypt and South Africa, and oranges were brought once from South Africa. Tests showed that nitrate levels in those fruits and vegetables did not exceed the permissible limits.
