4 Armenians among victims after plane and helicopter crash outside Moscow
Four Armenians, including two children, were among the victims of an air crash outside Moscow on August 8, according to preliminary information of Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations. A private Cessna-206 seaplane collided in midair with a Robinson 44 light helicopter in the Istra district of the Moscow region, with both aircraft falling into the Istra reservoir.
On board of Cessna seaplane were pilot Mikhail Yermolchev, Larisa Manukyan, 25, Paruyr Manukyan, 26, Erik Gelchyan, 8, and Ofelia Gelchyan, 10, Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan said.
The bodies of eight people have been recovered from the water and identified, the search for the ninth victims is still underway, RIA Novosti reported.
